Do you have “Passion”?

Think about your best friend, favorite client, favorite restaurant, your spouse, your kids, a business you have dealt with that you just love to buy from, a partner you trust completely, and others in a similar correlation.  When you do, does your adrenaline go up just a bit, do you get a bit excited, does your voice get a bit louder and faster paced?  Of course it does, this is what PASSION brings out of you.

Think about spreading Word-of-Mouth about someone in the above list.  Do you get excited, tell stories about them and the experiences you have had (hopefully you keep the ones about your spouse a bit private) and why they are on your “favorites” list?  Of course you do – we all do.

Think about what you say about them.  Is it all the facts, details, research, and specifics or is it telling “stories” about your experiences?  Do you enjoy telling about the time when…  Of course you do, this is what we all enjoy hearing, ever since we were young.

All of these, like Social Media, exude passion.  They don’t exude “promoting” yourself.  They engulf the emotion and the engagement and interaction people get from telling passionate stories – regardless of topic.  Here’s the secret sauce…create content around what you are passionate about and watch the audience flock to your stories.  Tell them about you and how wonderful you are and you will certainly be standing alone.  Word-of-Mouth gets created in part because of the passion exuded by the speaker.  If there isn’t passion, we call that a “coupon” in the social media world.  So use the passion you already have and your audience/followers will thank you for it, comment on it, and share it.
